In today’s ever-evolving social scene, the fusion of casino culture with bar environments has created a fresh, immersive experience that goes far beyond traditional nightlife. Bars are increasingly embracing elements of card games and casino aesthetics to create unique spaces where patrons not only enjoy great food and drinks but also experience the thrill of chance and strategic play. This integration is subtle yet profound, influencing décor, mixology, and overall ambience to offer an elevated social experience.

The Emergence of Casino Elements in Bar Culture

Historically, the worlds of casinos and bars have shared common ground in terms of entertainment and social interaction. However, the modern trend goes much deeper than merely hanging a few vintage playing cards on the walls. Today’s establishments use casino themes to evoke a sense of excitement, sophistication, and risk-taking. The environment is carefully curated to make guests feel as though they are stepping into a mini-casino where every detail—from the lighting to the background music—enhances the overall experience.

This transformation is not just about visual appeal. Many bar owners are rethinking their entire concept to incorporate interactive elements reminiscent of a casino floor. For instance, rather than simply serving drinks, some venues now offer themed events where patrons can participate in friendly card games, or even enjoy mixology demonstrations that mimic the drama of a high-stakes game.

Innovative Mixology and Ambience

One of the most exciting developments in these casino-inspired bars is the innovation taking place in mixology. Bartenders are crafting cocktails that not only taste exceptional but also tell a story. Drinks are being named after classic card games, and their presentations often include theatrical elements such as smoke, LED accents, or hidden flavour layers that reveal themselves with every sip. This approach transforms the act of drinking into an engaging performance, drawing guests into a narrative of luck and strategy.

The ambience in these bars is equally meticulous. Designers and architects are merging traditional bar elements with subtle nods to casino aesthetics. The result is a space where neon accents, plush seating, and strategic lighting combine to create an atmosphere that is both inviting and exhilarating. The overall goal is to make each visit feel like placing a well-calculated bet on a night of unpredictable fun.

The Role of Technology and Social Engagement

Technology has become an integral part of this trend, allowing bar owners to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds. Interactive digital displays, mobile ordering systems, and real-time social media integrations are all being deployed to enhance customer engagement. Patrons can now use dedicated apps to check in, participate in themed challenges, and even win small rewards through mini-games that echo casino mechanics.

Midway through this digital transformation, many establishments are turning to online platforms for inspiration. For example, insights from online gaming review sites such as https://play-fortune.pl/ have provided bar owners with a deeper understanding of what today’s audience finds compelling in casino experiences. This digital influence helps shape the physical space, ensuring that the energy and interactivity of a casino are effectively translated into a bar setting.

Key Trends Shaping the Experience

To better understand how casino culture is influencing modern bars, consider the following key trends:

  • Thematic Décor: Incorporating vintage card motifs, roulette wheels, and slot machine-inspired lighting to create a distinctive casino ambience.
  • Interactive Gaming Elements: Offering casual card games or mini-tournaments that invite social interaction and friendly competition.
  • Innovative Cocktails: Crafting signature drinks with unexpected flavour twists and dramatic presentations that capture the essence of high-stakes play.
  • Digital Engagement: Utilizing mobile apps and social media to keep patrons informed of events and promotions, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience.
  • Community Building: Creating a space where guests feel like part of an exclusive club, bonded by shared experiences and the thrill of risk-taking.

This list highlights how bars are not simply mimicking casino decor but are integrating core elements of gambling culture into every facet of the dining and drinking experience.

Future Prospects of Casino-Inspired Bars

Looking ahead, the fusion of casino culture with bar trends appears set to expand even further. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect more sophisticated integrations that enhance the interactive experience. For instance, augmented reality might soon allow guests to see digital overlays of card games or virtual roulette wheels as they enjoy their cocktails, further blurring the line between digital and physical entertainment.

The emphasis on creating a community experience will also likely intensify. With a growing interest in niche social experiences, bars that incorporate casino elements are poised to become popular meeting points for like-minded individuals who appreciate both fine dining and the excitement of games of chance.

Moreover, collaborations between traditional bars and online platforms can offer fresh perspectives on customer engagement. Detailed insights from digital casino review platforms, such as those found on https://play-fortune.pl/kasyno/europejskie/, provide valuable inspiration. These collaborations could lead to themed nights, exclusive promotions, and interactive events that further enhance the social fabric of the bar scene.

As these trends evolve, the boundary between a night out and a gaming experience continues to blur. The fusion of card games and cocktails creates a dynamic atmosphere where every element—from the décor to the drinks—contributes to a memorable, engaging experience. Patrons no longer see a bar visit as a simple drink after work but as an immersive adventure where every detail has been meticulously crafted to evoke the thrill of a high-stakes gamble.

In summary, the subtle influence of casino culture on modern bar trends is transforming the way we think about social dining and entertainment. With a blend of innovative mixology, interactive gaming elements, and smart technological integration, these bars are setting new standards for what a night out can be. This trend not only enhances the overall customer experience but also creates vibrant communities built around shared moments of excitement and conviviality.

In recent years, food trucks have become a disruptive force in American cuisine. Once dismissed as roaming vendors serving fast food, these mobile kitchens now offer innovative dining experiences that blend creativity, affordability, and community engagement. Their evolution has not only redefined what and how we eat but also inspired a new generation of culinary entrepreneurs.

Innovation on Wheels

Compact Creativity

Food trucks thrive under spatial constraints. Limited kitchen space forces chefs to streamline their menus, focusing on a few signature dishes. This environment breeds innovation, as operators experiment with fusion flavours and inventive ingredient combinations. The necessity to do more with less often results in dishes that challenge traditional restaurant fare, offering diners unique and memorable experiences.

Artistic Expression and Branding

Beyond the food itself, the look and feel of a food truck play a crucial role in its success. Many operators invest in custom designs and vibrant graphics that reflect their culinary identity. This visual appeal transforms food trucks into moving works of art, drawing in customers with their eye-catching exteriors and reinforcing the creative spirit behind their cuisine.

Technological Integration and Social Media

Real-Time Engagement

A key advantage for food trucks is their savvy use of technology and social media. Platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook allow operators to update customers on daily locations, special offers, and new menu items. This real-time engagement fosters a strong sense of community, with customers eagerly anticipating each truck’s next stop and sharing their experiences online. The immediacy of these updates not only builds loyalty but also turns every meal into a shared event.

Streamlined Payments

Modern food trucks also embrace mobile payment systems to enhance the customer experience. With contactless payments and dedicated ordering apps, transactions are quick and efficient, reducing wait times during busy service hours. This seamless integration of technology supports both the operational efficiency of the truck and the convenience of its customers, who increasingly expect fast, reliable service.

Impact on American Culinary Culture

Democratizing Gourmet Experiences

One of the most transformative impacts of food trucks is the democratization of gourmet dining. Many trucks serve high-quality, innovative dishes at prices far more accessible than those found in upscale restaurants. This affordability opens up gourmet cuisine to a broader audience, allowing more people to sample creative culinary offerings without a hefty price tag.

Fostering Cultural Exchange

Food trucks often act as cultural ambassadors at local events, festivals, and community gatherings. Their menus can adapt to regional tastes and seasonal ingredients, resulting in a fusion of national trends with local culinary traditions. This adaptability not only enriches the local dining scene but also promotes cultural exchange. In many cities, food trucks have become meeting points where diverse communities come together over shared meals.

Nurturing Entrepreneurial Spirit

The food truck movement is a launchpad for culinary entrepreneurs. Many chefs begin their ventures on wheels, using the food truck as a testing ground for new recipes and business models. With lower overhead costs than traditional restaurants, these mobile kitchens allow for experimentation and rapid feedback from customers. Success in this arena can even lead to opening a brick-and-mortar establishment, making the food truck model a proven pathway for innovation and growth in the hospitality industry.

Challenges and Future Prospects

Navigating Regulations

Despite their popularity, food trucks face a complex regulatory landscape. Local governments impose varying zoning laws, health standards, and permit requirements that differ from one municipality to another. While these regulations are crucial for public safety, they can limit operational flexibility and expansion. Operators must balance compliance with the creative freedom that defines their business, a challenge that requires adaptability and perseverance.

Competition and Market Saturation

As the food truck phenomenon grows, so does competition. In urban centres, many trucks vie for the attention of hungry customers, making it harder for any one vendor to stand out. To maintain their edge, operators must continuously innovate, maintain high-quality standards, and actively engage with their audience. In a market where a single negative review can quickly spread via social media, sustaining a positive reputation is essential for survival.

Embracing Sustainability

Looking forward, sustainability is emerging as a critical focus for the industry. Consumers are increasingly concerned with environmental issues, prompting many food truck operators to adopt eco-friendly practices. From sourcing locally produced ingredients to utilising biodegradable packaging and energy-efficient equipment, these initiatives help reduce the environmental impact of mobile kitchens. Balancing sustainability with profitability is challenging but may offer a competitive advantage as the demand for ethical dining options grows.

Future Trends and Technological Advancements

The future of food trucks will likely see further integration of technology. Advances in data analytics can help operators better understand customer preferences and optimise service routes, while developments in kitchen automation may streamline operations further. Additionally, collaborations between food trucks and established culinary institutions—such as pop-up events featuring renowned chefs—could create exciting new dining experiences that blur the lines between street food and fine dining.

Conclusion

The rise of food trucks is more than a fleeting trend; it marks a significant shift in American culinary culture. These mobile kitchens have redefined the dining experience by offering innovative, affordable, and high-quality cuisine that appeals to a broad audience. Through technological integration, creative menu design, and a strong sense of community, food trucks have democratized gourmet dining and become hubs of cultural exchange. Despite facing regulatory challenges and fierce competition, their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to sustainability promise a bright future. As food trucks continue to evolve and adapt, they are set to remain a dynamic and influential force in shaping the culinary landscape for years to come.

Choosing a good restaurant is not easy, because there are many eating out places, especially in big cities, and the level of service varies everywhere. Everyone wants to find a place where they can have a good lunch or dinner and enjoy a pleasant environment. To avoid disappointment when visiting a restaurant, it is worth evaluating it according to several criteria. Try to gather information in advance, especially if an important meeting or event is planned. Here are the main criteria for evaluating a restaurant.

Customer feedback

The first thing to do is to read the restaurant reviews posted on Google. It does not hurt to go to the city forum, ask leading questions, perhaps there you will be able to get useful information. In addition, it is advisable to look at the profile of the institution on Instagram and Facebook. Large restaurants that want to promote themselves and have a lot of customers have it. It is welcome to have their own website with an indication of the restaurant’s opening times, a description of the dishes presented on the menu, notes on the culinary theme and on the events that take place. The more extensive the reviews of the restaurant, the better.

The criteria for choosing a restaurant can be compared to choosing an online casino without CRUKS https://onlinecasinopoint.nl/casino-zonder-cruks/. At the stage of searching for a reliable gambling site, you should also study the reviews, the website.

Don’t be lazy to seek information through social media and the website, especially if you plan to become a regular.

Location

Another important criterion for choosing a restaurant is location. For people living in the centre, it’s easier to find a suitable place because there’s so much to choose from. In larger cities, there are gourmet restaurants and places where you can try exotic dishes.

The venue must have convenient transport links. If it takes an hour or more to get to the restaurant, the whole experience will be marred by a tedious journey. It’s not just the way there, it’s also the way back.

It is advisable for the restaurant to have its own parking space. Sometimes it happens that the venue itself has a convenient location, but all the car parks nearby are full. You have to spend a lot of time trying to park your car, which spoils your mood.

Restaurants with picturesque surroundings have a good attendance rate. In such surroundings, it’s always nice to have a cup of coffee, a full lunch or dinner on the outdoor veranda (in the warmer months) or admiring the view from the window.

Service

Almost all regulars prioritise the quality of service when choosing a restaurant. The staff must be friendly and professional. Restaurants that think about their own reputation and the profitability of their business do not hire people from the street. All service staff are trained and even pass exams. The waiters know how to properly set the tables, help customers with the choice of dishes and drinks. At the same time, they do not impose themselves and observe all the rules of etiquette when communicating with guests. It is always nice to be served by a polite waiter with a smile on his face. In gratitude for excellent service you immediately want to leave a tip. A good waiter makes guests’ evenings enjoyable, knows how to work with long-thinking customers, and maintains self-control in any situation.

Purity

In good restaurants, the management keeps a close eye on cleanliness. This is another important point to focus on when choosing an establishment. Assess how the cleanliness of the particular restaurant is maintained. Look at the tables as well as other furnishings. Pay attention to the state of the floors, curtains on the windows. Cleanliness should be a priority. In elite restaurants a client will never be seated at a dirty table with dishes after previous visitors. Cleanliness should reign everywhere in the hall itself and in the foyer. It is unlikely that you will get a glimpse into the kitchen, but you can get an impression of how the place works by looking at the crockery and cutlery.

Exterior and interior

For almost all diners, the ambience is important. The interior as well as the exterior of the establishment is important. Assess whether the establishment is in an old or new building, whether it has an architectural appearance and whether it has been renovated recently.

As for the interior, it can be either classic or contemporary in style. Some people like the avant-garde trend. Everyone has different tastes, but the main thing is to have a consistent concept in the interior design of the restaurant. The atmosphere should dispose to a pleasant pastime, tasting dishes prepared by the chef. A restaurant interior design that reflects the owner’s or management’s creativity looks effective. If the menu features oriental cuisine, the room can be designed accordingly.

The interior of a restaurant must be comfortable.

Popularity

Assess the popularity of the restaurant. It’s not always a measure of quality, but most of the time it is. Find out how many people are in the establishment, whether there are queues, and whether it is easy to book a table. What the attendance is like on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

An establishment with adequate prices, a varied menu and qualified staff is unlikely to be empty on a Friday night.

Kitchen

When evaluating restaurants, don’t forget about the cuisine; it’s what you go there for. Be sure to ask what’s on the menu, focusing on the quality of the food. Sometimes the menu is modest but the chef cooks very well, sometimes it is the other way around. Some chefs excel only at certain dishes while others are mediocre. It’s all on an individual basis. Luxury establishments choose their staff, especially the chefs, carefully, as their reputation depends on it. Look carefully at the menu – you can do this even at home, through the website. You might find something interesting in it as well as the most popular and vegetarian items. Check the selection of drinks and authenticity (especially important for national cuisines). A good restaurant will not chase the quantity of food to the detriment of the quality of preparation.

]]>
American cuisine is not just traditional fast food and barbecue, it’s quite diverse, with lots of original recipes that are popular all over the world. Americans are great at cooking meat, vegetables and even seafood. They have dishes with unusual names, excellent flavours, which are often achieved by combining the ingredients in an original way.

The history of American cuisine

American cuisine has borrowed a lot from other nations. There is something from Italy, France and Germany. This fact can be explained by the influence of immigrants from different countries. Especially Italians who started to emigrate to America en masse at the end of the nineteenth century. By the middle of the 20th century, traditional Italian dishes, such as pasta and apple pie, have become a familiar and favoured dish for Americans. Thanks to the immigrants, Americans became fond of pizza and aubergines.

French cuisine also did its part; it became particularly popular in Louisiana. French natives were actively settling the region, changing American cooking. They prepared dishes with seafood, beans, and corn, adding hot peppers to them. The first seafood Americans liked was crayfish and shrimp, cooked in a clay pot. Also popular was jambalaya, a paella-like rice dish. The gambo soup was also popular, with a thick consistency and spices, more akin to a stew. It is served in local catering establishments.

Chinese cuisine made American cooking even more interesting. This came about as a result of the arrival of workers from China.

Consumption habits of Americans

Americans also have their own culinary traditions. They make extensive use of ice, for instance. Jugs filled with ice cubes are placed on restaurant tables. Beer drinks are most often served cold in chilled glasses. Americans also enjoy iced tea.

Classic American cooking is a combination of melted cheese, cottage cheese and butter. Spices are sure to be added.

Another traditional American product is peanut butter. The dish is simple to make: the peanuts are chopped and salt and sunflower oil are added. These snacks are in demand all over the world.

Rice is often used as a side dish by Americans, and ranges from long rice to wild rice.

Traditional American cuisine is full of spices; the Americans add cloves, ginger, many varieties of pepper, laurel, cumin to their food.

And, of course, almost all Americans love fast food – hamburgers, hot dogs, shawarma, chicken sandwiches.

In the US, it is common to cook convenience foods, and dishes based on them are also often served in fast-food restaurants.

There are grill bars, steak houses (places that specialise in cooking steaks and chops) across America.

The daily diet of US residents is based on the principle of minimum time and financial expenditure. It is difficult to call American food healthy, and few people in the country follow healthy eating habits.

The American family table seems a little monotonous, with dishes made mainly of rice, potatoes and chicken. Almost all meals are simple to prepare and even somewhat primitive.

Typical American dishes

America is commonly associated with fast food and its people love to cook meat outdoors. For this reason, barbecue recipes abound.

But other national dishes shouldn’t be forgotten either. For example, turkey, which is cooked in the US for Christmas and Thanksgiving.

In South Carolina, people love to eat corn porridge with prawns and rucola for breakfast.

Louisianians are crazy about doughnuts and New Mexicans are crazy about stewed green chilli peppers.

It is quite common for Americans to make salads out of fruit and vegetables, using original sauces to dress them.

They regularly indulge in a variety of hot sandwiches, using ham, breast and simple vegetables as toppings.

When it comes to baked sweets, pumpkin pie is the most popular. Americans love cheesecake with various toppings, banana split, which is an ice cream-based dessert with banana. The brownie, a brownie filled with liquid chocolate, is also popular.

The dishes that feature atypical American foods are the ones that stand out:

  • corn chowder is a soup made from milk and corn;
  • Clam chowder is a seafood soup;
  • A corn dog is a sausage in cornmeal dough;
  • Pecan pie based on custard and corn syrup with pecans.

Combining dishes that don’t go together

In America, they like to combine seemingly incongruous foods. One example is fried chicken. It is most often served as a second course, complemented with vegetables and cereals. In the United States, they can be accompanied by waffles, pancakes, honey and maple syrup. The combination is quite original, but delicious. Meat and sweet notes go well together. It’s one of the favourites in the South of America.

Meat, like chicken, is often supplemented with sweet and sour sauces, such as lingonberry sauce.

Also in America, cucumbers are fried. The vegetables are sliced and then fried in a batter. People in other countries find this way of cooking cucumbers strange, but Americans like it.

And what a combination of oysters and calf testicles – a dish often served in Montana.

Equally interesting is the combination of celery with peanut paste and dried grapes. In Russia, such a combination is not practised, but for Americans it is considered the norm. Such an unusual dish is often made for children, as it’s high in vitamins, carbs and fats.

The USA is an amazing country, its culinary traditions are full of subtleties that not everyone knows about. Americans like to experiment with products and come up with original dishes. The people of this country have proved that simple ingredients can be used to make works of culinary art.

It could be a Friday or Saturday, and you don’t want to waste these days. If that’s what you want, you should plan a night out. People often think of nights out with friends as things that happen. But you should plan carefully if you want a good night out. And you need a little bit of spontaneity to make it more fun.

We made this research in partnership with Julie Collins, head of business development from AdvanceSOS service, which provides online cash advance loans and other short-term loans to its clients, and she insured us that their institution provides immediate financial aid to such clients all around Colorado and other states.

You need to start if you’re not the type to make plans. Sometimes you have to take the lead, especially if you are always the one who is asked. With the help of technology, it should be easy to plan the night out. Still, trying to figure out how to begin? Let this article help you get started well.

Here are some things to keep in mind when planning where to go:

Know Your Audience

Most nightclubs have a particular theme, vibe, or way of having fun. Make sure you pick a nightclub your group will like and get them excited. For example, taking a group of people who want punk rock to a country nightclub could be better.

The next thing to watch is who goes to the nightclub. Most people in their 30s don’t want to dance with 19-year-olds. A lot of nightclubs are popular with people of certain ages. Some clubs are only for people over 30, and some have different crowds on different nights of the week. Some also have a much wider range. But it’s best to ensure you bring your group somewhere they’ll feel comfortable.

Lastly, don’t forget to check how much bars and nightclubs charge. Even though most of them only ask for a small amount, you should still think about this ahead of time. To get the most out of your experience, you should look for affordable places for your group.

Check Out Reviews Online

You can learn a lot about a nightclub by reading reviews about it online. You can also use Google Maps to see if there are any pictures taken outside the club. Also, know what it looks like inside, so you don’t have to rely on someone else’s description.

Everyone uses social media these days, so you can use hashtags to find out what people are talking about. Remember that the nightclubs with the most reviews might be louder. So if this isn’t your thing, try to find a smaller club with fewer reviews instead of one that’s always full. Also, find out how they handle parties that get out of hand and if the club has ever been closed for any reason. You can also ask people you know who have been to the club, such as your friends who live nearby.

Plan Where You Will Stay After

If you check out the place, you’ll know what to expect. If you’re looking for a club that’s open late, look for areas near bars and pubs. They’re most likely to be available after midnight. So, you can decide whether to stay at this place for a while.

You can also look at the map for bus or train stops nearby. You can quickly come home late at night if you live close to a subway station. If staying in a hotel in the city center is the best choice for your budget and schedule, choose a neighborhood with bars and restaurants. This way, you have many options when you want to go out.

Find Out What to Wear

If it’s a fancy nightclub, you should look your best. If the club is more casual, you can wear anything that makes you feel good. Before deciding what to wear, it might be a good idea to see what other people are wearing. In such a way, you don’t stand out for being too casual or too fancy. Most nightclubs have rules about what to wear, so check their website or call them before you go.

Find the dress code, so you don’t show up in your jeans and flip-flops! The easier it will be to choose your next Saturday night spot if you do more research ahead.

Check the Day’s Weather Forecast

Especially if the party is outside, the weather can change how things go. Before you plan an outdoor event, it’s always a good idea to check the weather and keep track of any changes. Also, if the weather is going to be very bad, it might be best to move the party to a better day. When it’s raining like crazy outside, not many people want to leave the house.

Distance Matters

Even if you go to the best nightclub, you won’t have the best time if it isn’t in a good place. Make sure you can get back home quickly and that the area around the club is safe. You don’t want to have to worry about any of your friends when they go outside to smoke or call a cab.

We eat out a lot, whether because we’re busy or just because we like it. If we aren’t careful, this habit can get in the way of our plans to be healthy. But that doesn’t mean it has to! Eating out can be a part of a healthy way of life. We need to know how to make good decisions.

Today, we’ll give you six tips to help you figure out how to order at any restaurant.

1. Do research before going

Most restaurants’ menus are on their websites, so it’s best to check them out before you go. If you go to a restaurant when you’re starving, you might order something you’ll later regret. If you plan, you’ll be able to choose the healthiest foods.

2. Don’t just look at the names of the dishes

The purpose of the title of a food item, movie, song, or book is to get your attention. But don’t just look at the names of the meals. Look at the descriptions of the dishes to find the information you need.

For example, Kickin’ Chicken Southwest Salad sounds good. It’s called salad, so you might think it’s all healthy. The description says it has lettuce, tomatoes, fried tortilla strips, crispy chicken, two kinds of cheese, guacamole, and spicy ranch dressing. This tells you that most toppings have a lot of fat and calories. You may still order the salad, but now you’ll know how to limit the fat and calories you eat at your next meal or snack.

3. Get to know the terms

Ensure you understand what the menu descriptions say now that you are reading them. The chicken in the example above is said to be crispy. This is another way of saying that it is probably breaded and fried. I’ve made a short menu cheat sheet for you below. See this glossary for more detailed information.

  • Butter, cream or milk, and/or cheese are often used to make: Au gratin, alfredo, béarnaise, beurre blanc, béchamel, creamed, hollandaise and velouté
  • Different ways to say “fried”: breaded and crunchy.
  • Usually lower in fat and calories because little or no oil or butter is used for cooking them. You can grill, bake, poach, broil, roast, steam, stir-fry, and lightly sauté the meat.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions

What does something mean on the menu or how it’s made? Ask! Staff members are there to help. Ask them what they think is good to eat and good for you.

Also, feel free to ask about alternatives. Can they grill the food instead of frying it? Can a salad be substituted for the side of fries? Can they use whole wheat bread instead of white bread if the sandwich comes on white bread?

5. Get food that you really like

You might hear people repeatedly say that you “should” eat this or order that. Figure out what healthy foods you like to eat. Eat those, but skip the ones you don’t like. Forcing yourself to eat foods you don’t like is not a good idea. Having said that…

6. Try something different

When you eat out, you can try new foods, flavors, and even cultures. Order something you’re interested in from the menu. Ask the waiters or waitresses to explain how it tastes. I also think you should order something you don’t usually cook at home. Going out to eat is a great way to try new things and get ideas for what you could learn to cook.

7. Take it easy and pay attention to your body

Restaurant portions are getting bigger and bigger. You don’t need to eat everything on your plate. Also, just because a meal comes with sides or desserts are on sale doesn’t mean you have to order them. Listen to your body and notice what it’s telling you.

It takes about 20 minutes for the stomach to let the brain know it’s full. Isn’t that cool? So, take your time eating and enjoy the people you are with. “Enough is as good as a feast!” Mary Poppins said.

Wrapping It All Up

Be yourself – that’s the moral of the story. You’re looking at that baked bacon mac and cheese with five kinds of cheese and a blooming onion as an appetizer. Ask yourself one simple question, “Will this make me feel good after I eat it?”

Suppose the answer is yes, more power to you. But chances are you’d end up with twin food babies in your stomach, which probably doesn’t feel good. Don’t deprive yourself; enjoy yourself! Just keep doing what you’re doing to be clean, healthy, and happy. Don’t be hard on yourself if you give in. Find something good about what you just ate and move on. Life is too short not to enjoy food.

In order to get better acquainted with the cocktail list offered by bars and not to get into trouble by ordering a combination you don’t like, get acquainted with the composition of the most famous cocktails. By the way, many of them can be made at home if you have all the necessary ingredients.

Mojito

This Cuban drink was born in Havana, in a small family restaurant that still exists today. The name mojito, according to legend, comes from “mojadito,” which means “slightly moist.

The composition of the mojito is rum, sugar syrup, soda (Sprite), mint and lime.

Cosmopolitan

According to one version, the cocktail was created as part of an advertising campaign for Absolut Citron lemon-flavored vodka. According to the second version, the author of the cocktail is Cheryl Cook, a bartender from Florida, and Toby Cizzini from Manhattan perfected and “replicated” it in the now familiar recipe. For a while, Cosmopolitan was popular among visitors to gay clubs, but after the TV series “Sex and the City” the cocktail became fashionable everywhere.

The composition of the cocktail is orange liqueur, cranberry juice, lemon juice, vodka, and orange peel essential oil.

Pina Colada

Pina colada – “filtered pineapple” – was originally the name given to freshly squeezed pineapple juice. Then it was mixed with rum and later in the twentieth century a cocktail based on these ingredients was born in Puerto Rico.

The composition of the Pina Colada is white rum, coconut syrup, and pineapple juice.

Margarita

This Latin American cocktail was born in 1936-1948 and in one way or another is associated with the name of a girl – Margarita. The first version dedicates the cocktail to the American actress Marjorie King, who could not drink any alcoholic beverages. The proportions of the modern cocktail were chosen for her. The second legend insists that a certain bartender from Juarez mixed up the order of the cocktail and made it on his own. He named the drink, which immediately became a hit, after the flowers of the daisies. These are not all the versions of the cocktail’s origin, but since none of the authors patented the recipe, there is still controversy surrounding it.

The composition of the Margarita is tequila, orange liqueur, and lemon juice.

Screwdriver

According to the version of origin, the screwdriver got its name from American petroleum engineers working in Iraq, who mixed vodka and juice with the screwdriver tool.

The composition of the cocktail is vodka and orange juice.

Bloody Mary

Again, there is no consensus on who the author of this iconic cocktail is. One source says that it was invented by George Jessel in 1939 as a hangover cure. And others link the cocktail with the name of the English Queen Mary I Tudor, who was called the Bloody Mary behind her back for her cruel treatment of Protestants.

The cocktail contains vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, fresh celery, Worcester sauce, Tabasco, salt, and ground pepper.

Tequila Sunrise

This cocktail was invented in the 1930s and 1940s at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel and had a very different recipe. It got its name for its appearance – the components of the cocktail settled to the bottom, mixing with the juice, a game of color, similar to a sunrise was obtained.

The composition of Tequila Sunrise is tequila, orange juice and pomegranate syrup.

Daiquiri

The story of the cocktail’s creation takes us back to Cuba, where a certain engineer named Jennings Coxe went to the Daiquiri area on an expedition. To quench his workers’ thirst, he used rum he had and lime juice and sugar he borrowed from the locals, diluting the simple cocktails with ice.

The composition of the cocktail is white rum, lemon juice and sugar syrup.

An important factor for a pleasant pastime is the right choice of establishment, which will be held recreation. I will tell you how to choose the right bar or cafe depending on the situation and financial opportunities. Following these recommendations, you will find the best option in the shortest time.

  • Purpose of the visit:

First you need to decide with whom and on what occasion you go to a bar or cafe. Restaurateurs divide the purpose of the visit into four groups:

  1. family and friendly get-togethers;
  2. business meeting;
  3. romantic date;
  4. banquet (birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc.).

Each group has its own selection criteria. For a romantic date important factors are: quality service, cozy interior, live music.

When choosing a place for a business meeting pay attention to: the prestige of the institution and the contingent of its visitors, the speed of service, the noise level (the less, the better).

For a holiday with friends or family are guided by these indicators: the best price / quality ratio (cost of food should be adequate to its quality, in this case there is no sense to overpay), proximity to home (especially if the company will be children), a wide range of alcohol, speed of service.

In the case of a banquet, the availability of a spacious hall, secure parking and the cost of food are important indicators.

  • Gathering information:

Once the purpose of the visit is known, move on to the selection of a particular institution. First, you need to gather as much information as possible about the candidates closest to your home. Perhaps one of the institutions will suit you. If you don’t find any, you will have to widen your search.

You can get information from directories, brochures, the Internet, or ask acquaintances about their favorite places. Now more or less respectable restaurants, bars and cafes have their own website, which indicate: the exact address, map, pictures of interior and even the approximate cost of food.

The advantage of the Internet and the fact that the forums can find reviews from visitors who were there. I advise you not to ignore such a source of information. If there are a lot of negative reviews and specific shortcomings, it may be an indication of problems in the institution.

  • Pre-visit or phone call:

A very important stage, during which the institution is evaluated. Of course, it is better to go and orient yourself on the spot, but not always there is such an opportunity, so many make an order by phone.

During the visit or a phone call, I advise you to evaluate the politeness of the staff’s answers and the completeness of answers to questions. The representative of the place, talking to you, should give out as much information as possible, and not wait until they start asking questions.

An important factor is the time after which you were given attention. Indirectly, it indicates the speed of service. If no one came to the phone a couple of minutes, or during a personal visit you had to wait a long time for the representative of the institution, it is possible that the ordered dishes or the waiter will also have to wait for an eternity.

In addition to questions that depend on the purpose of the visit, you need to ask the representative of the institution the following:

  • The availability of ventilation (air conditioning) system in the hall where you will rest;
  • style of cuisine (Russian, French, Italian, etc.);
  • whether there are alcoholic beverages that your company prefers, for example, people who are used to drinking grappa, find this drink not in every bar;
  • whether there is security;
  • the number and contingent of other people who will be in the same room with your company;
payment methods (cash only or cashless payment is possible).

America is one of the three largest producers of whiskey in the world. The drink from the States is distinguished by its golden color, pleasant softness and a long sweet aftertaste. We’ll tell you what bourbon is and teach you how to choose the right drink. We’ll advise which American whiskey to bring from the USA or to buy it in the stores of LUX.

Distinctive features

American whiskey is different from Scottish and Irish whiskey. The recipe for the drink was brought to the United States by immigrants from Europe, but it has undergone many changes over time. Almost all of them occurred by accident or due to some peculiarities.

The biggest difference in taste comes from the original raw material. The rest of the world mostly makes whiskey from malted barley. In America they replaced it with corn. It was not because of a desire to be different, there were problems with the “right” grain on the continent. The chosen product enriched the taste of the drink, so the producers are not planning to give it up even now, when there are more opportunities.

In addition, many distilleries age the drink in charred oak casks rather than the usual ones. Curiously enough, this peculiarity also came about by accident. Once there was a fire in a large cellar. Tanks were damaged and there was no way to replace them. Whisky was kept in partially charred barrels. It turned out to be a good influence on the drink’s taste. So now the containers are specially smoked by fire.

What’s the right way: bourbon or whiskey?

The main difference between bourbon and whiskey is the peculiarities of making the drink described above. The American drink also differs from the European one in its pleasant golden color. Its taste is softer, slightly sweet. American whiskey and bourbon are synonymous. Both versions of the drink’s name are correct. If you say “bourbon,” you don’t need to add the definition of “American” – it’s clear by default.

Visually, the name of alcohol from the U.S. is not always different from European alcohol. Bottles of American bourbon often carry the words “whiskey. However, many companies still prefer “bourbon,” because the former is usually associated with Ireland. The Scottish variant (whisky), on the other hand, is only available in the country of origin, so you don’t see it in the United States.
It is believed that bourbon got its name in honor of the village of the same name, located in Kentucky. It was there that the best drink in the country was brewed. Today, the lion’s share of American whiskey is still produced in Kentucky.

Classification

Every bourbon is American. But not every whiskey made in the U.S. can be labeled with bourbon. It is worth understanding these nuances in order to choose a worthy alcohol. The basic classification divides the drink into two large groups:

– Straight is a real bourbon with at least 51% corn. Aged for more than 2 years, no extraneous additives are allowed.

– Blended – a blend of straight, neutral alcohols and colorants.

The first type of bourbon meets the standards enshrined in U.S. law. It is called “fair” bourbon. After distillation it is bottled in special barrels at 62.5% or less. The manufacturer himself decides how many degrees bourbon gets when bottling – most importantly, not less than 40%. If the ageing period of the alcohol does not exceed 4 years, the information about the youth of the drink must be written on the label.
The blended type of American whiskey is considered second-rate. It does not refer to bourbons and is not regulated by standards.
